Terms of Service

Inbox Hero (the "Service") is operated by mjonesone LLC ("we", "us", "our"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.

What Inbox Hero does

Inbox Hero connects to the email accounts you authorize (Gmail, and other providers you connect with an app password over IMAP) and helps you manage them. Depending on the features you turn on, it can:

• file bulk and automated mail into InboxHero/ labels or folders, including an AI Outreach filter for AI-written cold pitches from strangers;
• check mail for scams, fraud, and malware, move suspected fraud to a quarantine label, and flag mail worth a second look, including an estimate of how likely the text was written by AI;
• while insight panels are on (the default for Gmail; you can turn them off), insert a copy of an email with a short panel at the top and move the original to your Trash;
• show your mail, including formatted emails in a sandboxed viewer;
• write draft replies and quick replies, and send replies, reply-alls (including Cc), new messages, and forwards when you choose to;
• archive, move, or trash mail you choose, with Undo;
• answer questions about your mail in the Ask chat and propose actions that run only after you confirm them;
• suggest calendar events from dates in your mail, using read-only access to your calendar;
• email you a daily brief.

Your email provider remains the system of record. Inbox Hero is an assistant on top of it, not a mail provider. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• You may connect only mailboxes you own or are authorized to manage, and you are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in email and connected accounts secure.
• You are responsible for what you send. Inbox Hero drafts and suggests; you decide what is sent, forwarded, or deleted. Review drafts and proposed actions before you confirm them.

AI features

Classifications, scam and fraud verdicts, AI-writing percentages, summaries, answers, and drafts are produced automatically and can be wrong. No filter catches every scam, and a legitimate email can be flagged by mistake. Treat these as aids, not guarantees, and verify anything important, especially requests for money, payment details, or passwords, directly with the sender through a channel you trust.

"Sent with Inbox Hero" line

Email you send through the Service includes a short "Sent with Inbox Hero" line linking to your personal referral link. It is on by default; you can turn it off in Settings at any time.

Plans, trials, and billing

Inbox Hero is priced per connected mailbox. Current prices, and whether the Service is in a free beta, are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.

• Free beta. While the Service is in a free beta, no payment details are needed and nothing is charged. If paid plans start, you will need to choose a plan and add a payment method yourself to keep using the Service.
• Free trials. Some plans start with a free trial. Our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment details when the trial starts. When the trial ends, your subscription starts and your payment method is charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and are charged to your payment method on file until you cancel.
• Per-mailbox pricing. Your subscription covers the number of mailboxes you have connected. Adding or removing a mailbox changes your subscription, and the charge is adjusted (prorated) for the rest of the period.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the billing page in Settings. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of your current trial or paid period; you keep access until then. Deleting your account also cancels your subscription.
• Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partial periods. If you think you were charged in error, contact us and we will look into it.
• Price changes. We may change prices. We will tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next billing period after the notice. You can cancel before then.
• Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until it is resolved.
• Taxes may be added where required. We do not store your full card number.

Referrals, invite codes, and promotions

• You can share your referral link or invite people by email. Invite only people you know and who would expect to hear from you, and do not use invitations for spam.
• Friends who join through a referral or invite may get an extended free period, and referrers may earn free months, as described in the app when the offer is made.
• Promotion codes can be entered at checkout and apply under the terms stated with the code.
• Referral rewards, free months, credits, and promotion codes have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be changed or ended at any time. We may withhold or reverse rewards obtained through fake accounts, self-referral, or other abuse.

Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, send spam or unsolicited bulk email, harass or deceive people, access mailboxes you are not authorized to use, or try to disrupt the Service, get around its limits, or reach other users' data.

Your content and our service

Your email, calendar, and other content stay yours. You give us only the limited permission needed to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. Inbox Hero's software, design, and brand belong to us; these terms do not give you any rights in them other than using the Service. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

Email from us

By using Inbox Hero you agree that we may send you service email (sign-in links, the daily brief, account and billing notices) and occasional email about our own other products. You can unsubscribe from the product email and turn off the daily brief at any time; service email needed to run your account will continue.

Third-party services

The Service works through your email providers and other services (such as Google and Stripe), which have their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or actions, and changes they make can limit what Inbox Hero can do.

Availability and changes

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" and may change or be interrupted. If Inbox Hero is unavailable, your email keeps working through your provider. We may update these terms; we will change the date above, and for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we provide the Service without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not promise that it will catch every scam, file every email correctly, or be error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or funds (including money lost to fraud), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.

Termination

You can stop using the Service, disconnect a mailbox, or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to in order to protect the Service or other users. When your account ends, we delete your stored credentials and data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
